One week workshop beginning Monday, July 21, 2008
Week 3, Distressed for Success, Fibre Techniques, July 21-25
Pulled threads, frayed edges, tearing, and deconstructing: find out how all that aggression can help you create a successful
piece of fibre art. Then learn a novel Cooperative Problem-solving and Recycling technique (CPR) which could help you transform
and finish that unhappy UFO you’ve had for years. A painter for ten years before turning to fibre art, Susan Strachan Johnson
has since won several awards, including Threadworks 2004 and the Insights 2006 Fibre Art Award. She has just
completed her City & Guilds stitched textiles Certificate and is already in demand for workshops in the area. A sewing machine
is useful, but not essential, since assembly can de done by hand.
