The Crosley at Le Mans in 1951, watercolour
My brief with this painting was to paint this famous little car which won at Sebring, Florida, in 1950 (because of its consistent, albeit overall slower lap speeds), without all the bits and pieces like roll bars and seat belts that have since been added to all extant models. I was also asked to give it a more rural background, and to size it so that it could be cropped to both a 4 inch x 6 inch card shape, and also into a shape that would fit nicely into a No. 10 envelope.
